    Le groupe néerlandais d'expédition internationale et de logistique Frans Maas a pris le contrôle de deux entreprises logistiques en Europe centrale: Kamino en Roumanie (à 75%) et Distriland/Distripack en Pologne (100%). Par ailleurs, le groupe a obtenu plusieurs nouveaux contrats logistiques, dont un, pour une division de GE, sera réalisé dans un nouveau centre de distribution à Puurs (Belgique). C'est ce qui a été annoncé à l'occasion de la publication des résultats semestriels. Ceux-ci sont en légère hausse.

    Le président des services de pilotage néerlandais, R. van Gooswilligen semble conséquent avec lui-même dans son discours. Juste après la présentation de la politique de réforme du marché pour les pilotes néerlandais de la ministre aux Transports Tineke Netelenbos au parlement néerlandais, Van Gooswilligen répéta que les pilotes ne s'opposaient pas à une plus grande influence du marché s'il s'agissait des tarifs. Le service de pilotage est cependant contre la suppression de la structure de l'organisation actuelle et le passage à une organisation de marché devant être opérationnelle pour la fin 2001. Selon les pilotes, la meilleure manière de garantir la qualité et la sécurité est de maintenir l'organisation professionnelle actuelle avec ses 580 pilotes du registre.

    A l'automne de l'an dernier, les responsables du port de Gand avaient annoncé qu'ils souhaitaient se débarrasser de leur parc de grues (LL du 28/10/98). La division était fortement déficitaire et aucune amélioration de la situation ne semblait se profiler à l'horizon. La création d'une Entreprise portuaire autonome de Gand, qui débutera ses activités le 1er janvier prochain, était l'occasion idéale pour prendre des mesures d'assainissement.
