  • DB Cargo a noté une baisse de 4% de son chiffre d'affaires en 1999
    Dès le 1er juillet prochain, Bernd Malmström (58) remplacera Eberhard Sinnecker en tant que président de DB Cargo. C'est ce qu'a annoncé le conseil de surveillance de la Deutsche Bahn mercredi à Berlin. Les résultats de la Deutsche Bahn, dont la mise en bourse est toujours prévue pour 2002, ont été publiés par la même occasion: le chiffre d'affaires est en hausse de 3%, mais on note une perte d'exploitation de 170 millions de DEM tandis que le bénéfice avant taxes est en baisse de 226 millions de DEM.
  • Van Den Bulck a fait faillite
    Le tribunal de commerce d'Anvers a déclaré la faillite de la société familiale anversoise Van Den Bulck, spécialisé dans la traction de containers. Cette entreprise, qui avait pourtant une solide réputation, n'a pu traduire dans les prix de transport les récentes hausses du prix du diesel. "Certaines entreprises magouillent, acceptent de rouler à n'importe quel prix, de sorte que la concurrence dans le secteur du container est assassine", nous a déclaré au téléphone Diane Van Den Bulck. L'entreprise est la première victime importante de la flambée des prix du diesel... et de la concurrence déloyale fustigée depuis des années par les organisations professionnelles. "Le laisser-faire des pouvoirs publics fait qu'à la fin, ce seront les entreprises honnêtes qui succomberont et les transporteurs mala fide qui survivront", avertissent tant la Febetra que la SAV depuis longtemps.

    Dans le cadre de l'adhésion officielle d'Austrian Airlines Group (Austrian Airlines, Tyrolean Airlines et Lauda Air) à la Star Alliance en date du 26 mars prochain, la compagnie aérienne se présente sous un visage différent dans le Benelux.
