    • La navigation citernière fluviale s’apprête à traverser une période agitée
      La tendance à la baisse des frets dans le transport de produits liquides par la navigation intérieure ne pourra être infléchie qu’à condition de s’attaquer à la surcapacité dans le secteur. De plus en plus de citerniers à double coque font leur apparition sur le marché, alors que la consommation de pétrole et la demande de capacité de transport ne cesse de diminuer. “La flotte citernière internationale doit être adaptée à la baisse des volumes de transport”, a déclaré l’armateur allemand Hubert Petzelt, qui préside le groupe de travail “Navigation Citernière” de l’UINF, lors d’un atelier du deuxième congrès économique de la Commission centrale de la Navigation sur le Rhin, qui s’est tenu à Liège la semaine dernière.
    • Cobelfret Ferries entend poursuivre une stratégie de diversification
      L’armement belge Cobelfret Ferries a mis en service le roulier “Victorine”, dont c’était le baptême (1) vendredi dernier à Zeebrugge, qu’il aligne maintenant dans son service vers son terminal de Purfleet. C’est le dernier des 6 rouliers de 9.729 t.dw qui furent commandés au constructeur japonais Kawasaki Heavy Industries. L’armement exploite ainsi une flotte de 13 rouliers dont un affrété. Pour l’instant il n’y a pas d’autres projets de commandes de navires rouliers. “S’il s’avère que nous avons besoin de tonnage supplémentaire, nous penserons à vous”, devait déclarer Christian Cigrang, administrateur du groupe à l’adresse des représentants du chantier naval japonais, au cours du déjeuner qui suivit la manifestation. “Zeebrugge reste notre port principal. Au cours des dix dernières années les volumes ont considérablement augmenté et pour l’instant nous nous efforçons de privilégier l’amélioration de la qualité de nos services”, a-t-il dit.
