L’objectif est de créer un réseau axé sur le LTL régional mais offrant également des services de LTL national. Les chargeurs faisant transporter des quantités de plus en plus faibles à la fois, ces marchés devraient croître de 10% par an aux Etats-Unis. Le rachat d’AF devrait accélérer le mouvement de concentration dans ce secteur. Consolidated Freightways et USFreightways se trouveraient d’ailleurs dans le colimateur d’UPS.
