Le Parlement européen doit aussi encore se pencher sur la question.
  • Les constructeurs de camions réduisent la production
    Mack a annoncé une nouvelle réduction de l’emploi dans ses usines afin de faire face à la baisse très prononcée du marché, qui a été amorcée à la mi-2000. Le marché nord-américain du poids lourd est actuellement inférieur de 37% par rapport à il y a un an. Les autres constructeurs américains ont également pris des mesures en ce sens. Mais en Europe également, les carnets des commandes se vident. DAF a d’ores et déjà annoncé une réduction de 6% de sa capacité de production dès le mois de mai prochain.
  • Le bénéfice de la division logistique de Preussag a augmenté de 59%
    Le bénéfice du groupe allemand Preussag a augmenté de 20% à 747 mio. d’EUR durant l’exercice 1999/2000. Avec 423 mio. d’EUR, les activités touristiques en prennent la majeure partie à leur compte. La division logistique, qui comprend les filiales Hapag-Lloyd, VTG-Lehnkering et Algeco, a également obtenu d’excellents résultats et affiche 220 mio. d’EUR, une hausse de 59% par rapport à l’exercice précédent. Cette progression est principalement le fait de la division maritime.

Au fil des année, ces activités ont fait l’objet de développements quasi constants. En avril prochain démarrera une nouvelle phase de développement, qui consiste à adapter la flotte d’un des services en introduisant d’autres navires et partant, une nouvelle grandeur d’échelle.
