    Ainsi qu’évoqué à maintes reprises dans ces colonnes, l’armement MSC va développer ses activités au Havre, où il génère actuellement un trafic annuel de l’ordre de 85.000 TEU. Il le fera en accord avec son manutentionnaire local Terminaux de Normandie. L’objectif fixé est de traiter quelque 400.000 TEU, dont 60% en transhipment, d’ici 2004. Outre ces trafics de transbordement, une partie de ce volume sera généré par la croissance de trafics existants et par de nouveaux services qui sont à l’étude ou en préparation.
  • Geodis annonce une dégradation du résultat pour 2000
    Le groupe français Geodis, qui est dans l’orbite de la SNCF, a annoncé une progression de 8,5% de son chiffre d’affaires en 2000 à 22,4 mia. de FRF (et de 8,9% à taux de change et structures comparables). Par contre, il a averti que les résultats financiers, qui seront rendus publics le 22 mars, seront en retrait. “Le groupe enregistrera sur l’exercice une dégradation de résultat supérieure à ce qui était attendu”. Notons qu’en 1999, un bénéfice de 121,7 mio. de FRF avait été dégagé, sur un CA de 20,6 mia. de FRF.
  • Clandestins: la tension monte chez les transporteurs routiers
    “La tension monte de manière très perceptible à Calais et il est clair qu’à tout moment, un incident peut dégénérer”. C’est ce message d’avertissement que la Fédération Nationale française des Transporteurs Routiers (FNTR) a lancé dans un communiqué. Elle veut que les amendes et les sanctions s’appliquent aux passeurs et non aux transporteurs de bonne foi “qui respectent les consignes et les contrôles mais sont victimes de l’ingéniosité des clandestins”.
  • Anvers risque de perdre son rôle de centre P&I
    Si le fisc belge s’en tient à son intention d’assujettir les assurances P&I à une taxe de 6,6%, les armements étrangers souscrivant ce type de polices responsabilité par l’intermédiaire de courtiers basés à Anvers risquent fort de tourner le dos au port scaldien au profit d’autres centres où ce type de taxes n’existe pas. Cela signifierait pour le marché anversois la disparition d’une activité importante qui génère aussi des rentrées indirectes pour les pouvoirs publics. Les milieux concernés demandent que l’on tienne compte du caractère particulier des activités P&I dans le cadre de la réforme en cours de la loi sur la taxation annuelle des contrats d’assurance, qui doit être réécrite dans le cadre de l’accord sur les mesures compensatoires pour le transport routier. Ils espèrent recevoir un signal positif d’ici le 20 février, date annuelle de renouvellement des contrats.
