    Le trafic de DFDS Tor Line a régressé sur quatre de ses sept services “Bridges” au premier semestre. Le recul a été le plus prononcé sur le service EuroBridge entre Gand et Göteborg, où les volumes ont baissé de 14% et les tarifs se sont trouvés sous pression. C’est ce qui ressort des chiffres du groupe DFDS. Tant au niveau du groupe que pour la filiale active dans le transport de marchandises, les responsables tablent sur un bénéfice en 2001.
  • Le gouvernement recherche un meilleur équilibre entre l’environnement et le transport
    Les ministres du Transport et de l’Environnement des quinze Etats-membres européens se pencheront de manière informelle sur un transport durable via une politique intégrée à la mi-septembre. L’initiative émane d’Isabelle Durant et Magda Aelvoet, les deux ministres écologistes du gouvernement belge, et vise une meilleure harmonisation de la politique de transport et environnementale. Durant et Aelvoet visitent le Main Hub anversois de la SNCB aujourd’hui en vue de préparer cette rencontre européenne.
  • Fluvial: le “Plan Rhône” va être réactualisé
    En 1996, Voies navigables de France (VNF) approuvait le “Plan Rhône”. Cinq ans plus tard, les résultats sont plus que probants: le trafic fluvial de marchandises s’est élevé l’an dernier à 910 millions de tonnes-kilomètres (t.km), ce qui représente une progression de 78% par rapport au niveau enregistré en 1995. Face à cette progression spectaculaire, le “Plan Rhône” va être réactualisé avec comme objectif de doubler le trafic d’ici à l’horizon 2010.
  • L’ITF part en guerre contre les propositions de directive sur les services portuaires
    L’ITF (International Transport Workers’ Federation) n’apprécie pas du tout les propositions de directives de la CE relatives aux services portuaires et elle le fait savoir dans une lettre transmise aux parlementaires européens dans laquelle elle souligne que la commissaire Loyola de Palacio et ses adjoints font preuve d’un manque de connaissance tant en matière spécialisée qu’en ce qui concerne la perspective historique de l’industrie maritime, pour pouvoir apprécier l’impact total que ces propositions pourraient avoir. C’est donc une condamnation en règle accompagnée d’un avertissement: si les mesures sont effectivement adoptées il y aura des ports sous-standard et de sérieux conflits portuaires.
