Dix PC de 6.700 TEU remplacent au fur et à mesure des livraisons dix unités dont 5 de 3.300 TEU et 5 de 4.300 TEU. Ce sont les navires les plus petits qui sont remplacés en premier lieu. Ce week-end, l’armement présentait à sa clientèle belge à Anvers, le second de ces PC géants, le m/v “MSC Ilona”, dont le maiden trip impliquait une escale au terminal à containers à marée de la Hessenatie. Théoriquement, cette nouvelle flotte devrait être opérationnelle au complet dès le mois de mai 2002.

    Suite à la catastrophe du tunnel du Gothard de la semaine dernière, la commissaire européenne aux Transports Loyola de Palacio a demandé à l’Autriche et la Suisse d’adopter une certaine souplesse quant aux quotas en vigueur pour le transport de marchandises par la route. Elle demande en outre aux entreprises de transport de l’UE de davantage faire appel aux possibilités du transport combiné rail/route.
  • Gand: Termont donne l’amorce d’un dialogue social
    Lors de discussions menées à l’initiative de l’échevin du port Daniël Termont, les représentants des employeurs et des ouvriers portuaires du port de Gand ont décidé de manière informelle d’entamer le dialogue sur certains dossiers. Le volet social occupe une place centrale dans cette démarche. Le recrutement d’ouvriers portuaires temporaires est ainsi envisagé. La balle est désormais dans le camp des partenaires sociaux et du comité paritaire.
  • CMA CGM: 3e trimestre bénéficiaire mais le résultat final sera plus faible
    A l’issue du premier semestre, l’armement CMA CGM affichait toujours des résultats en nette progression et ce sur bien des plans. Le CA avec 6,93 mia. de FRF (1,05 mia. d’euros) était en hausse de 20% par rapport au premier semestre de l’année précédente, le nombre de containers transporté était en hausse de 13% avec 863.000 TEU et le résultat net consolidé atteignait 234,7 mio. de FRF (35,78 mio. d’euros) en progression de 13%. Conclusion: l’armement poursuit sur la lancée qu’il a connue l’année dernière.
