  • Amorce de redressement dans le secteur aérien?
    Le secteur aérien ne s’est toujours pas remis des attentats du 11 septembre. Les chiffres de trafic de décembre 2001 semblent toutefois indiquer un début de reprise, selon la presse économique internationale. L’optimisme plus que mitigé provient principalement de la constatation que la baisse du trafic a été moins importante en décembre qu’au cours des mois précédents.
  • Ostende: Ferryways et Searoad Stevedores ont le vent en poupe
    Le port d’Ostende a très bien marché l’année dernière. On peut même dire qu’il a présenté dans certains secteurs les taux de croissance les plus élevés des ports belges, à savoir + 12,6% pour l’ensemble du trafic marchandises et + 37% dans le domaine plus particulier des trafics ro/ro. Ces performances résultent de la conjugaison de plusieurs facteurs, à savoir la mise en service de nouvelles infrastructures et par conséquent, la venue de nouvelles entreprises génératrices de trafics. L’armement Ferryways et sa société soeur Searoad Stevedores, qui exploite le nouveau terminal du Zeewezendok, devenu polyvalent ro/ro-lo/lo, figurent en tant qu’animateurs principaux de ce renouveau que connaît ce port côtier belge.
  • L’Inspection de la Navigation intérieure emprunte des voiesnouvelles
    La loi du 3 mai 1999 a sensiblement modifié la vie du batelier opérant sur les voies d’eau belges. Les autorités belges ont dès cet instant inspecté les unités fluviales belges et étrangères empruntant les voies d’eau nationales. Après près de deux ans d’activité, une certaine routine s’est installée. “En général, nous constatons que les bateliers souhaitent respecter la législation concernée”, précise l’inspecteur en chef Guido Lannoy. “De nombreux bateliers nous demandent comment satisfaire à toutes les prescriptions de la nouvelle législation et coopèrent volontairement aux contrôles. Ils exigent toutefois que le concurrent soit traité sur un même pied à la jetée suivante”. Il s’est toutefois avéré l’année dernière que nombre de bateliers ne disposent pas des documents requis.
