Il y a par exemple les entreprises postales comme Deutsche Post et TPG qui veulent devenir des prestataires de services logistiques mondiaux, mais aussi des armements, comme Mærsk et NYK Line, qui s’aventurent sur la même voie.

Au total le groupe est présent dans 13 ports. Selon le nouveau président de PSA Stephen Lee, les USA constituent le chaînon manquant du réseau. L’intérêt porterait d’abord sur la côte Ouest, ce qui est logique puisque cette partie des Etats-Unis traite le plus grand volume des échanges avec l’Asie.
