    Le programme CSI (Container Security Initiative) et son corollaire “manifeste 24 h avant embarquement”, sont des sujets qui préoccupent fortement toutes les parties liées au transport maritime de marchandises essentiellement containérisées à destination de ports américains. Dans les diverses entreprises concernées, les états-major s’échauffent, car les choses ne sont pas aussi simples, et le temps presse, ce qui n’empêche pas d’évaluer une éventuelle échappatoire via le Canada.
  • Le pont-canal de Magdebourg sera mis en service l’année prochaine
    Le nouveau pont-canal sur le canal du Mittelland, à proximité de Magdebourg, a été mis sous eau avec succès. Avec une longueur de 918 mètres, il s’agit de la plus longue construction de ce type en Europe et peut-être même au monde. Le pont-canal surplombe le passage de l’Elbe. Il s’agit du deuxième projet de ce type sur le canal du Mittelland, le Weser étant surplombé par un pont-canal de près de 350 mètres de long à Minden.
  • Novembre a été catastrophique pour le secteur de l’assurance maritime
    Le mois de novembre n’a pas été bon pour les assureurs de navires et de leurs marchandises. Plusieurs accidents importants ont en effet été enregistrés ces derniers jours. L’accident le plus médiatisé a été le naufrage du citernier “Prestige” au large des côtes espagnoles, souillant fortement le littoral.
  • Les EU autorisent les transporteurs routiers mexicains sur leur territoire
    L’administration Bush vient d’autoriser les transporteurs routiers mexicains à opérer sur le territoire américain en dehors de la zone des 20 milles commerciaux imposée jusqu’ici. Les premiers camions mexicains pourront avoir accès à tout le territoire à partir du 1er janvier 2003. “Les échanges entre les deux pays vont sans aucun doute augmenter”, selon le sécrétaire d’Etat américain aux Transports, Norman Mineta.
