L’organisation énumère en outre un certain nombre de priorités qui doivent permettre à la navigation intérieure de valoriser ses atouts dans le cadre d’un réseau de transport durable dans une Union européenne élargie. Le slogan “Water is the way to go”, doit souligner les ambitions de l’INE.

    Les restructurations intervenues récemment au sein du groupe Hanjin Shipping Co et qui concernaient plus précisément sa filiale Senator Lines, qui de ce fait se retire des secteurs transpacifique et Atlantique, faisaient craindre qu’il en irait de même pour la relation Europe-Asie. Aux dernières nouvelles, il n’en est rien. Les rumeurs persistantes à ce sujet sont non fondées. “Nous restons dans ce trafic avec Hanjin et dans le cadre de cette nouvelle configuration CKYHS”, nous a dit un représentant de la direction au QG de l’armement à Brême.
