The Irish Government will consider the possibility of privatizing the main national ports and airports to find the necessary resources to deal with the financial and economic crisis in the country. He revealed the British newspaper "The Sunday Times this week in anticipation of the Review Group on State Assets and Liabilities, the school committee by the Irish Department of Finance who has been assigned the task of assessing the best use of public assets, will present to Government plans to sell the airports of Dublin, Cork and Shannon and the ports of Dublin, Cork, Foynes and Waterford.
The three airports are wholly owned by the Irish State that also runs through the Dublin Airport Authority. The ports, which are also state owned, are operated through the public port companies Dublin Port Company, Cork Port Company Shannon Foynes Port Company and Port Waterfort Company.
