English and Italian Halcrow Idroesse Infrastructure will design the layout of the maximum port terminal offshore of Venice, located eight miles off the Malamocco, its links with the land and the terminal layout and management model terminal on the ground in Marghera ( of 23 September 2010).
The group composed of the engineering study English, which is based in London and operates worldwide in the field of port infrastructure, and the Italian engineering company, based in Padua and specialized in transport, infrastructure, environment and energy, has won its race to which were invited national and international companies. The choice was based on the criterion of economically most advantageous tender for a baseline value of 320,000 euros of the race.
The plan will be delivered by Halcrow and Idroesse must provide for the detailed design of four strategic areas for the construction of port infrastructure in Venice: the layout of the offshore terminal, the management model of the terminal, how to connect with the terminals of land, the layout of the container terminal planned at Marghera in the former Montefibre / Syndial where current reclamation activities, and where you are planning a new rail terminal.
The study will be conducted in close collaboration with the engineers of the Port Authority of Venice, under the terms of the tender will be ready by the end of 2011. The port authority said that, based on this study, will carry out the project feasibility to be made tender in accordance with procedures provided for project financing for the national strategic infrastructure.
