Today the work for the doubling of the Palacrociere of Savona is started



Today the work for the doubling of the crocieristico terminal Palacrociere of the port of Savona is started officially with the construction of the second marine station. Set up the last operating details, in fact, on 1° June the Harbour Authority of Savona has delivered in concession the area where the structure will be realized, for which Costa Crociere will invest about nine million euro.

Completed the contract contest on 24 May, the allocation of the assignment is entrusted to a temporary grouping of enterprises that sees front man the White PDR - De Rege Spa of Genoa and Aza-Aghito- Zambonini Spa di Fiorenzuola. The professional studies that have worked to the planning of according to terminal are all from Liguria ones: Study Near Architects (architects Luigi Vicini and Andrea Piazza), that it had already worked to the planning of the Palacrociere and the Palacruceros of Barcelona; Technical study Ingg. Montaldo and Canale; QED Srl projects.

The yard will remain opened about 15 months, with the forecast therefore that to beginning september 2013, when begins the season of maximum concentration of cruise ships to Savona, the new terminal is operating for the first ships. For safety reasons, the yard will be separated by the remainder of the area dedicated to the cruises with fences, while the current tensostruttura, used in the presence of three ships at the same time, will be moved on the opposite side to the dock of the third party approaches. The savonese harbour agency in fact has remembered in the next few months that they will be the 40 days in which three will be introduced at the same time approach of ships of Costa Crociere.

According to terminal it will have a total area of 3.500 square metres and will be a terminal "satellite", functional connected to the existing marine station, with the possibility, therefore, to use the services already you anticipate in the Palacrociere, but in a position to operating as an independent terminal, with areas of wait, areas of transit and area independent baggages. Independent it will be also the control service, with an emplacement for Police, Customs corps and Agency of Customs.

The Harbour Authority of Savona has emphasized that the presence of the ships Coast generates an important economic impact on the territory: according to a study of the MIP, the School Business of the Polytechnic of Milan, the value of the generated induced one by Costa Crociere in 2010 in the port of Savona and, more in general terms, in Liguria has been respective of 5,5 million euros and almost 230 million euros, in great part, these last, represented from work executed on the ships of the fleet.
