
In the first quarter of 2025, Turkish ports handled
135.9 million tonnes of goods, a volume that represents a
slight increase of +1.1% on the same quarter of 2024,
is the new record for this time of year and is
2.2 million tonnes lower than the quarterly record alone
established in the period April-June 2022. To generate the
growth was the new all-time high of imported goods
from abroad which amounted to almost 70.2 million tons
(+5,2%). Transit traffic was stable being
16.7 million tonnes. Imported goods down
from abroad, which totalled 35.6 million tonnes (-1.3%)
and cabotage traffic also decreased
with 13.3 million tons (-9.8%).
In the first three months of this year, traffic alone
handled by Turkey's ports has been
equal to 3.35 million TEUs as well as in the corresponding
period of 2024.
In the first quarter of 2025, the total traffic handled
from Turkish ports to and from Italy stood at 11.3
million tons (+2.1%), with only one container traffic
which was equal to 148 thousand TEUs (-7.8%).
In the first three months of this year, cruise traffic in
Turkey was 102 thousand passengers, with a sharp increase
by +66.3%.
