    La commission européenne a accepté hier le règlement de la version révisée du Trans-Atlantic Conference Agreeement (TACA), aussi appelé règlement "not-below-cost", par lequel les parties concernées peuvent convenir de ne pas pratiquer des prix inférieurs aux coûts lorsqu'elles assurent des services de transport intérieur dans le cadre d'une opération de transport multimodal.
  • Dow Chemical devient le plus grand client pétrochimique de KTN
    Les géants américains du secteur chimique Dow Chemical et Union Carbide vont fusionner et constitueront de la sorte le deuxième groupe chimique au monde. L'opération devrait être menée à bien d'ici la fin du printemps prochain. Le Dow Chemical nouvelle formule sera le plus grand et le plus important client de Katoen Natie pour les activités de logistique pétrochimique, tant en Belgique qu'au niveau mondial. Un porte-parole du groupe logistique a déclaré qu'il était cependant trop tôt pour dresser un inventaire précis des possibilités de synergies entre les deux géants.
  • Le concept du container repliable est-il valable pour l'Europe?
    Considérant la croissance continue que connaît la containérisation et l'importance des déséquilibres qui se manifestent dans divers trafics maririmes, d'aucuns relancent l'idée - déjà mise en pratique - d'un container repliable. Certes, les avantages de ce concept sont évidents sur le plan pratique, mais on peut émettre certaines réserves au niveau des coûts.
  • Une nouvelle halle aux aciers au port de Bâle
    L'avenir du transport fluvial et des ports intérieurs réside dans la diversification et la spécialisation tout à la fois. Il leur faut trouver de nouveaux marchés pour compenser la stagnation et, à terme, le tassement des vracs (avec l'heureuse exception que constitue, pour l'heure, le charbon). Il leur faut aussi proposer des prestations "pointues". C'est une condition posée par le marché.
