    Au premier semestre, le port de Rotterdam a transbordé 2,3% de plus de marchandises qu’au cours des six premiers mois de 2000 mais le grand port néerlandais a également subi une baisse du transbordement de containers (-6,8% en volume). Le transbordement de marchandises a augmenté à 161,8 mio. de tonnes grâce aux excellents résultats dans des secteurs comme le charbon (+33,5%), les produits pétroliers et petcokes (+16,1%), le pétrole brut (+7,5%) et les vracs agricoles (+16%). Le trafic à l’entrée a augmenté de près de 5% tandis que celui à la sortie a baissé d’un peu plus de 6%. L’Entreprise portuaire Communale (GHR) ne s’attend pas à un record cette année, suite entre autres au ralentissement de la croissance économique.
  • Par quel type de navire ISH va-t-il remplacer ses LASH?

    A peine entré en fonction, le nouveau président des chemins de fer autrichiens ÖBB Rüdiger vorm Walde a déjà laissé entendre que les tarifs voyageurs étaient fort bas par rapport aux normes européennes. Il faudra donc les augmenter, a-t-il déclaré sans toutefois avancer ni pourcentage ni date. De son côté, le gouvernement autrichien entend promouvoir le transfert de la route vers le rail, et plus particulièrement vers la “Rollende Landstrasse”.

    L’armement mediterranean Shipping Co (MSC) n’est toujours pas à court d’initiatives. Après avoir lancé son propre service feeder dans le golfe arabique, il entamera dans les prochains jours la desserte des Caraïbes au départ de Freeport, ceci avec trois unités feeder qui opéreront en fonction de trois rotations distinctes. Pour MSC il s’agit d’un nouveau trafic. Au départ d’Europe du Nord, notamment d’Anvers, cette desserte est assurée via le service hebdomadaire “Atlantique Sud/Golfe” que l’armement assure avec des PC de 3.000 TEU et qui escalent à Freeport avant de poursuivre vers Miami.
