Nel primo trimestre il porto di Hong Kong ha movimentato 4,7 milioni di teu (+15%)

Nel primo trimestre di quest'anno il porto di Hong Kong ha movimentato 49,3 milioni di tonnellate di merci, con un incremento del 16% rispetto allo stesso periodo del 2002. I dati del traffico - resi noti oggi dal Census and Statistics Department (C&SD) di Hong Kong - mostrano una crescita del 18% delle importazioni, salite a 31,2 milioni di tonnellate, ed una crescita del 14% delle esportazioni, ammontate a 18,2 milioni di tonnellate. Rispetto all'ultimo trimestre dello scorso anno il traffico è aumentato complessivamente del 6% e le importazioni e le esportazioni sono progredite rispettivamente dell'8% e del 2%.
Nei primi tre mesi del 2003 il porto ha registrato una movimentazione contenitori pari a 4,7 milioni di pezzi da venti piedi, che rappresenta un incremento del 15% rispetto al corrispondente periodo del 2002. I container vuoti sono ammontati a 3,8 milioni di teu (+15%), quelli vuoti a 0,9 milioni di teu (+18%). Gli sbarchi di container pieni si sono attestati a 1,8 milioni di teu (+16%) e gli imbarchi di container pieni a 2,0 milioni di teu (+13%).
Nel primo trimestre di quest'anno gli arrivi di navi hanno totalizzato un calo del 6% a 8.770 unità. La capacità è scesa del 9% a 71,9 milioni di tonnellate di stazza netta. Gli arrivi di unità fluviali sono cresciuti del 4% a 45.000 unità; in questo settore la capacità della flotta è cresciuta del 21% a 20,8 milioni di tonnellate di stazza netta.
