Nel secondo trimestre il porto di Hong Kong ha rialzato la testa
Movimentate 49,3 milioni di tonnellate di merci (+8%)

Nel secondo trimestre di quest'anno il traffico merci nel porto di Hong Kong ha mostrato una sensibile ripresa rispetto al trimestre precedente ed al secondo trimestre del 2001. Nel periodo aprile-giugno di quest'anno il porto ha infatti movimentato 49,3 milioni di tonnellate, con un incremento del 16,3% rispetto ai primi tre mesi di quest'anno e con una progressione dell'8% rispetto al periodo aprile-giugno dello scorso anno.
Le importazioni e le esportazioni sono ammontate rispettivamente a 31 milioni e 18,2 milioni di tonnellate, con aumenti del 9% e 7% rispetto al secondo trimestre del 2001.
Rendendo noti oggi i dati del traffico portuale, l'Hong Kong Census and Statistics Department ha precisato che, eliminando gli effetti stagionali dalle statistiche trimestrali per consentire una più significativa comparazione dei dati nel breve termine, il traffico nel secondo trimestre di quest'anno è risultato in aumento del 7% rispetto al trimestre precedente e le importazioni ed esportazioni hanno totalizzato incrementi dell'8% e del 5%.
Dei 49,3 milioni di tonnellate di merci movimentate, 35,4 milioni di tonnellate (+6%) sono relative al traffico marittimo e 13,9 milioni di tonnellate (+16%) al traffico fluviale. Sono risultati particolarmente consistenti gli incrementi di sbarchi di merci provenienti da Stati Uniti (+17%), Corea del Sud (+15%), Tailandia (+14%) e Cina (+13%), mentre gli imbarchi hanno registrato forti progressioni verso Corea del Sud (+32%), Canada (+24%), Taiwan (+15%) e Stati Uniti (+12%). Le esportazioni verso la Germania sono diminuite del 14%.
Nel secondo trimestre 2002 il porto di Hong Kong ha movimentato 4,8 milioni di container da venti piedi, con un incremento del 7% rispetto allo stesso periodo dello scorso anno. I container pieni sono stati pari a 3,9 milioni di teu (+9%) e i container vuoti a 900mila teu (-1%). Le importazioni e le esportazioni di container pieni sono aumentate rispettivamente del 12% e del 7%, attestandosi a 1,8 milioni di teu e 2,1 milioni di teu.
Le navi oceaniche arrivate nel porto di Hong Kong sono state 9.050, un livello analogo a quello del secondo trimestre del 2001. La capacità delle navi è invece aumentata del 17% a 75,5 milioni di stazza netta. Il numero delle imbarcazioni fluviali è ammontato a 46.230 unità (+3%) e la relativa capacità è salita del 19% a 19,2 milioni di tsn.
