Sarà il ministro dei Trasporti e della Navigazione, Pierluigi Bersani, a inaugurare Seatrade Mediterranean Cruise and Ferry Convention, in programma dal 12 al 14 settembre alla Fiera di Genova.
La terza edizione della mostra-convegno della statunitense Miller Freeman, organizzata da Seatrade Organisation in associazione con Stazioni Marittime Spa, promette di confermarsi punto di riferimento internazionale per tutti gli operatori del settore crocieristico, settore che sta vivendo una stagione di fortissima espansione., «basti pensare - come sottolinea Emilio Sacchi, presidente di Stazioni Marittime Spa - che, per quanto concerne il porto di Genova, il movimento di traghetti e crociere negli ultimo dieci anni è aumentato del 275%».
Seatrade è anche una importante occasione per il capoluogo ligure, considerato che l'indotto della manifestazione significa per la città un movimento di risorse finanziarie valutato tra i 22 e i 25 miliardi.
Le novità di Seatrade 2000 sono la presenza di Barcellona come porto ospite e l'apertura ai tour operator ed agenzie di viaggio, per i quali si terrà uno specifico training programme.
L'area espositiva copre una superficie di 12mila metri quadri, e prevede la presenza di 250 espositori provenienti da 40 nazioni. Oltre che dai principali Paesi occidentali, sono previste partecipazioni da Australia, Haiti, Barbados, Singapore, Kuwait, Argentina e diverse nazioni dell'Est europeo come Bulgaria, Romania, Ungheria ed Ucraina, a conferma del prestigio raggiunto da Seatrade genovese, secondo solo al Seatrade di Miami.
Nella tre giorni di lavori si prevedono 10 sessioni di conferenze, tenute presso il PalaCongressi da esperti di altissimo profilo e con la partecipazione di circa 500 delegati, anch'essi provenienti da tutto il mondo. I temi trattati vanno dal design delle navi passeggeri, alle risorse umane , alla sicurezza, con un ampio ventaglio di argomenti.
Le conferenze si terranno dalle 9,30 alle 12 e dalle 14,30 alle 18 circa.
L'esposizione rimarrà aperta dalle 10 all 18 (martedì 12 e mercoledì 13), dalle 10 alle 17 (giovedì 14).
